🌍 Which city & country do you live in?

Queens, NY, USA

❓ Tell us about yourself

I was born and raised in Jamaica but I currently reside in New York. I’m a Journalist by profession but currently work as a freelance writer and editor. I am also a poet, serial entrepreneur, author, wedding officiant, and online talk show host.

My online program “Conversations with Trudy” raises awareness about mental health, human trafficking, domestic violence, racial profiling, rape culture, lupus, sickle cell, sexual trauma, COVID-19, and more. The program runs every Wednesday at 8pm EST on FB live and is rebroadcast on Newstalk 93FM in Jamaica and Karibbean Vibez Radio in New York.

I am the proud mother of a 22-year-old daughter who recently graduated college.

I am passionate about women empowerment and helping the less fortunate, as well as motivating and inspiring the younger generation.

❓ What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I love to learn and I’m always trying to learn new things. I taught myself how to build websites and I’ve just finished building my second e-commerce website. (The first was built by someone else.) Last year, I learned how to file my own taxes. I am also now learning how to make candles and lip gloss and how to print on T-shirts, mugs, and caps.

❓ How did you first find out about Clubhouse?

My niece told me about it in December of 2020 but I told her I wasn’t interested. One day, someone I follow on IG posted a story about a room they were hosting and I realized serious conversations take place on CH. I went back to my niece and asked her to send me an invitation.

❓ What do you love most about being a part of Sticky Beak Club?

What I love most about the Sticky Beak club is that it is community-oriented. We have a diverse group of people from all over the world, of many different backgrounds. Bryan and Jason try to make sure that every member of the club benefits from their membership in some way and they work very hard and have had sleepless nights to build, not just a community, but a brand. They also make sure that each moderator has a voice. Sticky Beak members are also very supportive.

❓ What is your favorite other club on Clubhouse, and why?

I would like to say mine but I don’t want to be biased because I don’t schedule rooms often enough under my clubs. I can think of a room, which is the Joyful Jamaican Room, but right now I can’t think of a club…I love so many. Hmmm…wait…maybe I can…it’s called “I’m Backing the Culture“. It’s a new club that’s focusing on preserving our Jamaican culture by bringing Jamaican creatives on Clubhouse together in an effort to modernize the Jamaican Story, transform the portrayal of Jamaica’s National Heroes, and connect the world to our culture.

❓ Who is your favorite person on Clubhouse and why?

My daughter. She’s my favorite person anywhere and everywhere…even though she’s not very active on CH. She only attends my events.

❓ If you host a room on Clubhouse – tell us more about it!

I host a room under the Sticky Beak Club called CH Freshmen (Newbies) Welcome Class – we offer a walkthrough of the app, as well as tips to navigate the app more effectively so new users can have a greater experience. In a couple weeks, I will also be hosting a room titled “Ask a Jamaican” where attendants can ask questions about Jamaica and Jamaicans.

I also host two rooms under my club “Yaadie Vybz” – one on Sunday mornings at 8:30am EST titled “Inspirational Sundays with Dr. Jasmine.” Dr Jasmine is a phenomenal woman and speaker and she breaks down the scriptures and juxtaposes them, then shows us how they apply to our everyday life which allows us to gain deeper insight. The other is a poetry and storytelling room at 4pm EST. Poets, storytellers, singers and rappers get together to share pieces of their work.

Occasionally, I host rooms under my club “Conversations with Trudy” where I allow anyone who has a story to tell their story and answer questions.

I also co-host the Joyful Jamaican room under the “Jamaica: Roots + Culture” club weekdays from 1-2pm.

❓ What tip would you share with people who are new to Clubhouse?

Hard to share just one.

*Hop into different rooms and see what they’re about before you start following clubs.

*Follow people who resonate with you. The people and clubs you follow will determine the experience you have on Clubhouse.

*Get on stage. If you have nothing of value to add, ask a question.

❓ What resonates most about 🦘Australia for you?

I’ve never been to Australia but Australians are so fun, free-spirited and inclusive…and Australia has “cockroach racing” :-). I mean, whose idea was that?!! LOL

❓ If there is one thing Sticky Beak could do to improve what would it be?

Slow down lol…my brain gets tired with everything that’s happening sometimes lol – but seriously, nothing they aren’t already doing.

❓ If there was one thing Clubhouse could do to improve what would that be?

Add a search function that allows CH users to easily find a room they want to be in. Also one that allows us to search through our followers for people with certain key words in their bios. That’s two, I know. 🙂

I am a 50-year-old Welshman living in England for the last 30 years. My greatest achievement is being a Dad to 2 boys and 3 girls aged 17 to 27.

At heart, I am an engineer. I love playing with the latest technology and am a real Apple fan. I am a real data nerd who loves to manipulate spreadsheets and do experiments on Linkedin. I absolutely love to travel and have been to Australia twice. When I retire, I would love to take a Camper across the US.

In my spare time, I can be found on the golf course watching a James Bond Movie or Monty Python…..is this a 5-minute argument or did you book the full half hour ?! I love to BBQ and will BBQ all year round in all weather, including Christmas Day in the UK in the rain or snow !

❓ What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I lost 32 kg (5 stone) by going low carb. Another interesting fact – the Silence of the Lambs Actor, Anthony Hopkins, is an ex-school boy for my school in Wales.

❓ How did you first find out about Clubhouse?

I was invited by a LinkedIn trainer in January 2021.

❓ What do you love most about being a part of Sticky Beak Club?

So many nationalities and different backgrounds can be found in such a great variety of rooms. It is also a great place to switch off and join some more light-hearted rooms like “Ask an Aussie”!

❓ What is your favorite other club on Clubhouse, and why?

LinkedIn is my social media of choice so I love the LinkedIn clubs like LinkedIn(ternational) and LinkedIn Mastery.

Better management of the hallway and improved searching.

🌍 Which country do you live in?

Cleveland Metro Area in Ohio, U.S.A.

❓ Tell us about yourself

I’m a Kitchen and Bath Designer who happens to be a Registered Architect. Not only do I design kitchens and baths for your residences but also for multi-family tenant spaces, hospitality, AirBnb, restaurants, etc.

❓ What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I own a brick and mortar boutique showroom which allows me to meet all kinds of interesting people when I’m not in front of my computer designing!

❓ How did you first find out about Clubhouse?

I started hearing about it on Facebook and I openly asked if any of my colleagues can give me an invitation to join Clubhouse.

❓ What do you love most about being a part of Sticky Beak Club?

Once I started Clubhouse, I was a little timid about using it. After a month of inactivity, I decided to start slow and hop on to a ‘Networking’ room and that is how I found Sticky Beak. I found myself being a mod as soon as I entered! Since then, I became a regular and I found really meaningful connections in the Sticky Beak Club. I truly enjoy being part of this wonderful community of good people all around the world! Where else can you find that?

❓ What is your favorite other club on Clubhouse, and why?

I have a few clubs on Clubhouse I often visit because I have many personal and professional interests. I like Designers Talk because of the openness and authentic conversations about the design industry, I like In The Shop where I get to meet professionals and artisans in the trade and also any club where I can find my Filipino peeps where I can talk about food and learn and practice Tagalog!

❓ Who is your favorite person on Clubhouse and why?

Who is my favorite person on Clubhouse? That is like asking who is my favorite child!!!

❓ If you host a room on Clubhouse – tell us more about it!

Right now, I am hosting a room under Sticky Beak and it is open every Friday at noon EST (New York time). It is constantly evolving but the main idea is All Things Kitchen Design. But sometimes, really, more often than not, it will talk about how to increase your property value with the right design decisions.

❓ What tip would you share with people who are new to Clubhouse?

The best advice I can give to newbies on Clubhouse is to not be afraid to speak and raise your hand. Push yourself to be on that stage. If you do not have any value to add to the conversation, then ask a question that could produce an answer that will not only benefit you but will also benefit others.

❓ What resonates most about 🦘Australia for you?

Let me get back to you on that…although, I have to say, I want to visit there soon!

❓ If there is one thing Sticky Beak could do to improve what would it be?

I wish that there’s a clickable function under Sticky Beak on the scheduled rooms in a bullet format (weekly) instead of swiping left to right and only seeing one room at a time.

❓ If there was one thing Clubhouse could do to improve what would that be?

Protect the rooms so that moderators can’t just end rooms randomly.

✳️ Meet our Moderators: Corinna Bellizzi

👋 Your Clubhouse Username:

caremorebebettr

🌍 Which country do you live in?

Santa Cruz, California, USA

❓ Tell us about yourself

Je m’appelle Corinna Bellizzi (née Benoit). I’m a mom of two young boys (aged 3 and 6) who keep me quite busy when I’m not busy working or studying, podcasting or spending time with all of you on Clubhouse!

Professionally, I’ve spent the last 20+ years as a senior leader in the natural products industry. I decided to go back to school to get my MBA @ Santa Clara University in fall of 2019 and I’m graduating this June with honors (Beta Gamma Sigma)!!!

I’ve always been an idealist and activist who wants to put more good into the world while I champion the rights and causes of those that have trouble standing up for themselves.

I decided to launch “Care More. Be Better: A Social Impact + Sustainability Podcast” this January to formalize that effort and create a platform for good. With Care More. Be Better.

I get to share the stories of inspired individuals, social entrepreneurs and conscious companies from around the globe who create a positive impact in their communities. You can find it wherever you listen to podcasts — and if you know someone I should feature — please make the intro! It’s why I came to clubhouse in the first place, after all!

❓ What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I have lived many lives personally and professionally. I used to race cars 🏁(Miata Club Races) and horses in three-day events🏇 (dressage, stadium jumping, cross country).

I am a 🏃‍♀️👟Boston Marathon finisher (🥈2009) and an archaeologist 👷‍♀️ with digs in Europe and the States under my belt.

I love Hot Sauce and Chocolate and Coffee and Champagne (but not necessarily in that order). I love love and rescuing animals. I will never stop.

❓ How did you first find out about Clubhouse?

During a group project in my Entrepreneurship class with @AmitJamuar and @bonvino (Anthony Bonvino), we were tasked with building a plan that could be executed in only ONE HOUR. We had chosen my podcast as the subject of our effort. Anthony & Amit convinced me our hour-long effort needed to be ON CLUBHOUSE.

I didn’t have an iPhone or iPad, so we conducted a session over ZOOM which they then fed into a club room titled “Care More. Be Better: Community Conversations on Social Impact & Sustainability”. I met 2 future guests in that one hour and decided I just had to get on the platform ASAP. So, I bought an iPad!

❓ What do you love most about being a part of Sticky Beak Club?

I love the community of friends that I’ve built through this club ALL OVER THE GLOBE. From Eastern Europe to the UK to Australia and Africa — it’s truly amazing.

❓ What is your favorite other club on Clubhouse, and why?

Care More. Be Better. Because it’s my club and the reason I came here in the first place.

❓ Who is your favorite person on Clubhouse and why?

This is an impossible question to answer. I have several favorites — and most of them are moderators or members of the Sticky Beak Club. Because I CAN’T CHOOSE I’ll just say it’s @StickyBeak

❓ If you host a room on Clubhouse – tell us more about it!

Care More. Be Better: A Social Impact + Sustainability Podcast and Community. We host community conversations covering topics from social benefit entrepreneurship to gender and racial equality, eco-conscious living and sustainability concerns as we seek to build a better future.

❓ What tip would you share with people who are new to Clubhouse?

Follow those who resonate with you — and don’t get mad if they don’t follow you back.

❓ What resonates most about 🦘Australia for you?

The people of Australia just feel more naturally open and fun than Americans (generally speaking).

As an example, one day, when I was out for my morning run near the waterfront in Sydney, I jumped the line and ran the last few miles of a marathon that ended at their iconic Opera House.

People actually cheered as I jumped the line and joined them. Some of the runners patted me on the back. That doesn’t happen in the States. We’re so much less inclusive and fun in organized race settings.

❓ If there is one thing Sticky Beak could do to improve what would it be?

I think the number of moderators that lead a particular room should be limited to those that are actively guiding the conversation.

I see several upcoming events in which I’m tagged as a presenter, many of which precede my waking hours.

I’m happy to join any time I can, but won’t be able to be active at 4am Pacific Time. 😉 And I say this with complete LOVE.

❓ If there was one thing Clubhouse could do to improve what would that be?

I think they need to do a better job keeping trolls and bots off the platform so we can rest a little easier as moderators on that front and focus on building great conversations instead.
